Playing at the Cabin

This past weekend we also went out to the hunting cabin so Randy could work on some hunting projects-- food plot preparation, planting some apple trees, etc. The apple trees are in full bloom right now and they are gorgeous! The boys played with their trucks and sand toys by making a little city. Marlee and I hung out in the shade and watched. This is a favorite place for the boys.

Worm Hunters

In anticipation of fishing over Memorial Day weekend, Blake and Bennett decided to go worm hunting after one of the morning rains this past week. They found quite a few under logs and bricks around the yard. Bennett LOVED picking them up, but Blake was a little more hesitant. They did go fishing Sunday evening at Mirror Lake in Mondovi, but didn't catch anything using their worms.

182.5 Days

That's how many days we have had this sweet little girl in our lives! Hard to believe that Marlee was born 6 months ago! Where has it gone? She is starting to sit up on her own now with a little help from the pillows that surround her. Those 2 bottom teeth STILL haven't popped through yet, but they are just sitting there. She is really liking to eat food now too-- sweet potatoes seem to be her favorite along with bananas!

T-Ball Time

This past week Blake had his first t-ball game. He was over-the-moon excited to get out there with his team! He is on the yellow team. They play twice a week with the first 45 minutes being practice and the last 45 minutes of game time. Here are some pictures from his first game.

Mother's Day Weekend

This past weekend the kiddos and I traveled to Alexandria, MN to visit my parents who just returned from wintering for the past 2 months in Mesa, AZ. Blake and Bennett were SO excited to see them! Jessi and Tom and their crew along with Erik, Jen and Grady also made the trip over on Saturday. The cousins all had fun playing together, riding bikes, climbing trees (see picture), and entertaining Marlee! Randy stayed back home to finish planting the 600 trees that he ordered (I am glad I planned to be out of town :)! The kids were awesome car riders, and it made for a very enjoyable Mother's Day spent with family! Pictured below are: Sophie (6.5) and Marlee (almost 6 months); all of the boys cousins- Bennett (3), Blake (5), Grady (6), and Adam (4); Grandpa Greg and Grandma Bev with ALL 6 of their grandchildren; Grandma Bev and Marlee; mom and her 3 kiddos; and finally our immediate family- Greg, Mandi, Erik, Bev, and Jessi on Mother's Day.

Celebrating Bennett

Yesterday was Bennett's 3rd birthday, and we celebrated with Papa Ron and Grandma Claudia in the evening. We enjoyed a tractor cake and ice cream with them. Earlier in the day Bennett received his gift from us and Papa and Grandma-- a miniature version of Papa's John Deere gator. He LOVES it and we have a hard time getting him to stop driving it!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Bennett!

We can't believe our sweet, strong-willed, tractor-loving little boy is 3 years old today! You make us laugh everyday with the funny things you say and do! We can't wait to watch you grow in the years ahead! We love you, Bennett James Risler!

What? It's May?!

By the looks of these pictures you'd swear it was January, but no, the date on this post is correct. It is May 2! We headed outside for a little bit of fresh air this morning. Blake wanted to ride his bike in the snow so we shoveled part of the driveway off. Hopefully this is the last of this crazy winter weather!
